Petro-Canada receives thousands of funding requests each year from organizations across the country who make a difference in people’s lives. Given our finite budget and focused strategic direction, we are not always able to respond positively to every request, even when it meets our funding criteria. Consequently, if your project does not fall within the guidelines and criteria presented here, it will not be considered for funding.
We contribute to registered charitable organizations and registered non-profit societies only (or the equivalent international bodies).
We support organizations in locations where we have a significant employee and business presence, and we proactively prioritize our funding allocations.
Applications for funding are considered for these categories only:
- Education — short and long-term labour supply initiatives
- Environment - water and water ecosystems
- Local Community Support - community infrastructure, United Way, youth initiatives, health with a cancer theme, and grassroots arts and culture
Outside of our major partnerships (>$100,000), we have a five-year funding maximum to organizations. After five years, a two-year hiatus is required before new applications will be considered from the same organization.
