Petro-Points for Cancer
Cancer touches the lives of many of us in one way or another. Because of this, we have chosen to focus our health partnerships with organizations engaged in the fight against cancer. To help fuel the cure, Petro-Canada launched Petro-Points™ for Cancer, providing opportunities for employees and customers to contribute their Petro-Points to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Since 2000, employees and customers have contributed more than 282 million Petro-Points to the Canadian Cancer Society. These Petro-Points have translated into assistance for those living with cancer, their families and friends.
By donating their Petro-Points, our employees and customers have helped the Society to offer the following information and support programs:
- Cancer Information Service - a national, bilingual, toll-free service that offers vital information about all aspects of cancer to patients, their families, health care professionals and to the general public
- CancerConnection - a one-to-one, telephone-based peer support service that matches Canadians diagnosed with cancer, or their caregivers, with trained volunteers who have experienced cancer themselves, either as a patient or as a caregiver
- Transportation Program - matches cancer patients who need help getting cancer-related care with a volunteer driver who will provide safe and reliable transportation to treatment
