National Aboriginal Achievement Foundation (NAAF) Education Scholarships
Petro-Canada has been a strong supporter of the National Aboriginal Achievement Foundation (NAAF) Education Scholarships and provides funding for the Petro-Canada Aboriginal Partnerships Recognition Scholarship. Women Building Futures
In 2008, Petro-Canada announced a substantial contribution to Women Building Futures (WBF) in the form of funding for a housing and training facility and providing scholarships for WBF students.
WBF is a registered, not-for-profit, charitable organization that helps women build better lives and achieve economic independence through training, employment and mentorship. WBF strives to be inclusive, responsive and respectful, meeting the specific needs of cross-cultural students and the employers who hire them. WBF is working to increase the numbers of First Nations, Métis, Inuit, Inuvialuit, and immigrant women in WBF programs.
The WBF housing facility will make it easier for women and their families, who may need to temporarily relocate to Edmonton during the training programs. Additional support for child care and personal counselling is also available to help each student succeed.
