Petro-Canada is an active steward of the environment around the facilities we operate. We recognize the need to holistically manage our environmental footprint given the fact that ecosystems are interdependent and that the Earth’s resources are finite. We consider access to and use of land a critical priority and engage with key stakeholders in the ongoing management of this physical space.

Through our association with the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, we are learning - along with other concerned organizations - how to effectively integrate our ecosystems thinking and develop enhanced metrics and indicators to assist us in making better decisions. In 2009, we will work toward developing a set of Corporate Ecosystem Principles, which will further enhance our ability to manage our environmental footprint.
